Lack CPU Pin cable

Go to solution Solved by Lurick,

Yes it's completely fine. The second one that's 4-pin only is optional.

Above is the build that I am planning and I have already bought some of the parts, but I just realized the CPU Connectors on the motherboard is an 8+4 pin connection. But the PSU that I have already bought only has one 4+4 pins connector. Is it fine to just connect the 8-pin and not connect the 4-pin?

Also, what do you guys think of the build above? I am mainly using it for video editing, graphics design, productivity, and gaming and plan to open up upgrade path in the future, the first one being the PSU but for now, that's the one I plan to go with first.

why is it optional? just make the MB without the 4-pin, save some manufacturing time and money, are MB makers stupid?

I think possibly it is for a more power-hungry CPU i guess, if you were to upgrade in the future, that's what I can think of.

It's all part of the plan 😄
