Hello,

I have encountered a problem with my GPU, and I would like to get some second opinions from you. The situation went like this; I was playing a game, screen went completely black, but I could hear the game (and the game was going, no freeze or anything, it was running without stopping, could hear my teammates and their ping's), pressing Ctrl+alt+end did stopped the sound, so I assumed that command was executed without fault. After that three things came into my mind the GPU died, monitor died or the PCI slot just gave up without any reason. After restarting the PC I got a monitors logo, while this rules out monitor failure (if that ever happens??), screen after that remained black. Then I removed my GPU and plugged a DP to MB output and I got imagine displayed without any issues. After inserting old Nvidia GPU into PCI slot I also get an video output. That leaves only a faulty GPU. Is there anything I can do to make sure that GPU is completely dead and I have to get a new one? I would like to be sure before purchasing a new one. (Or used)

Thanks for help!

Specs:

Win11,

GPU 6700xt,

CPU 7600x,

RAM 32gb 5600,

MB ASRock Pro RS,

PSU ROG strix 1000w (it's overkill, but it was on sale)

sounds like a power related problem with the GPU... you should smell if it smells fried..

depends on where you are in the world there are several channels fixing GPU's.. if it's worth it i don't know but it's not impossible to fix the GPU unless the core is fried. The question is if the cost is worth it compared to buying a new GPU.

in the US northwestrepair is an option.. since he specialize in GPU's.
