Hey guys, after a while of trying to fix my potato laptop I just need 1 last thing. So I've gotten nvidia drivers to work with my computer on zorin os lite. But... you need to open the computer, then wait for a few seconds, put it to sleep, then wake it up, to make the display work. Yeah... I dont even know what to do, if you guys can maybe say some fixes I'll be so so greatful.

This might be some power related problem. Check your nvidia control panel settings (if that's even a thing on Linux, idk) for any power or sleep related settings. Also, what are you laptop specs? Can you try running on your integrated graphics instead?

PLEASE MARK COMMENTS AS SOLUTION IF SATISFIED!!

bigger number better, makes me look cooler.

Yeah there's a control panel equivalent. My specs for the laptop is an i5-2410m with a geforce 410m and 8gb ddr3 ram, it runs well but yeah the start up process is just awful.

So I told you to check anything related to power and sleep. Do you have Intel drivers installed (I think they are inbuilt but you can still externally install). There might be a problem in switching the display output from your graphics card to integrated graphics.

Also, if you are installing Linux because your specs are low, then you can still get away with an optimized version of Windows. 8 GB ram is good and I don't know if you have an SSD or HDD, but if it is an SSD, then there is no reason to not install Windows (but optimize it).

Lowest settings of windows 7 doesnt suit this poor laptop anymore

I hate when people only read the latest reply after I post 2 replies at the same time. Read my second last reply!
