can anybody that has the g13 or know if it can tell me is the thumb stick is like a analog stick like the Xbox 360 controller? so that when you walk with it that you can control you speed?

I have one and yes it's analog. The little screen works with fraps and coretemp, so handy

Yes it is analog.

 

If you are feeling adventurous you can replace the analog stick with the sticks in another Logitech controller.  Search for it on Google.

 

The analog stick may not work as you'd think in all games.  I presume the reason why you want this is so you can get the benefit of analog movement on your character and have the precision of aiming with the mouse.  Some games will allow this very nicely.  Two games I can recall are Battlefield 3/4 and Borderlands 2.

 

In the event that a game refuses to recognize the stick because it expects a 360 controller, you can use the x360ce controller emulator.  This will make the game think an Xbox 360 controller is plugged in, even if you don't map all of the buttons from the G13.

 

There are some downsides, though, and it's due to how games are programmed.  For example, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 can be controlled with mouse+keyboard or gamepad, but not both at the same time.  What happens is that when the game detects you have used the gamepad for input (e.g. fire your weapon, or move with the stick) then the game "releases" all input and goes into gamepad input mode.  Then, if you were to make an input on the mouse+keyboard, all input is "released" and now you are in mouse+keyboard input mode.  So, if you have the hybrid input of the G13, what happens is that if you are crouching when you are firing via mouse+keyboard, then step forward with the analog stick, the game will force you to stand-up because it thinks you've let go of all inputs to go to gamepad (the analog stick for movement).

 

Yes, it is quite disappointing that some games are like this.  But you shouldn't have too many problems with the majority of games.  Also, I am reporting the CoD issue for when I played it shortly after release.  It could have been patched since then.

Great pad, as mentioned above the screen is great for watching fps/core temps etc

I'd probably use that stick to map additional commands/keys.
