Subwoofer 12 volt trigger input

Nulltooth23

Hi

I am having a bit of an issue with my new sub where i want it to turn off when im not using it as it gets quite hot. now i have a control 4 system with an IO extender sat right next to the sub and i am a control 4 integrator so i can program what i need. anyway i have tried putting the trigger in a relay on the IO extender and closing it and it doesn't turn it off or on. so its evidently not just a dry contact input and i tried putting 12 volt to it through the same relay and got the same result where it doesn't react to it at all. am i doing something clearly wrong or is it just being stubborn.

Many Thanks

Alex

What kind of subwoofer do you have, make and model, so I can research the plate?

Also, most subwoofers have a sleep mode they enter after a certain time of inactivity.

If all else fails, you could just place your subwoofer on a smart plug.
