Sorry, my bad, I missed that message.

Figured it out, It ended up being something to do with the cpu power and current limits. Game is running as I expected now! I appreciate the help.

Thanks again!

Hey all, Im running fortine in performance mode, my 3070 had run around 240fps with dips down to 190 in end game senecios, so i upgraded to a 4070 ti super and its the exact same. 240 with dips to 180 im guessing my ram is my bottleneck but cant find anything to verify. Any information is appreciated :)

BUILD:

Cpu - i7 13700k

Gpu - 4070 ti super

Nvme - 990 Pro 1TB

SSD - 870 evo 1tb

Psu - Corsair 850W

Mobo - Msi Z690 Edge wifi ddr4

Memory - XPG D50 3200 x4 8gb sticks 32gb total (running xmp)

This is the mobo ram speed specs from msi below

  • Max. overclocking frequency:
    • 1DPC 1R Max speed up to 5333+ MHz
    • 1DPC 2R Max speed up to 4800+ MHz
    • 2DPC 1R Max speed up to 4400+ MHz
    • 2DPC 2R Max speed up to 4000+ MHz
  • Supports Dual-Channel mode

So did you do a clean install of windows or using DDU or did you just plug in your 4070ti super and not reinstall drivers?

Your using a DDR4 Board, with a 13700k. Thats going to be your limitation but it shouldnt be held back that much.  Also fortnite is a pretty shit game to compare FPS too because its not consistent enough, you can have areas where your FPS goes to 250-400, and then areas with 160 fps. What are your settings ingame?

Safe mode ddu driver cleanup, reinstalled fresh drivers. Monitor is 240hz. I have seen a few videos of people pushing 500fps with dips of 350 so it just boggles me when i am struggling to get over 240.

Im running 1080 capped at 240fps in performance mode low meshes medium view distance, everything ells on low. ( I had tried to lock it at 360fps to test but its very inconsistent bouncing all over the place)

The resolution is the bottleneck here cause even a 7800X3D can't properly feed a 4070Ti on 1080p for such a framerate. -.-

So my 13700K is my bottleneck? This guy has a 5800X3D at 1080 performance mode low settings (end of the video) he is around 350-500fps (doesnt state 1% lows) but regardless i can barely get over 240 usually around 190. Just makes it feel like waste of money at this point going from my 3070 to a 4070 ti super to see 0 improvement in fps (for fortnite) so im just trying to figure out why someone ells can get even to 360 fps where i cant touch it.

Monitor your GPU usage.

You can try disabling the Multiplane Overlay MPO.

Use the latest motherboard Bios.

What is cooling your CPU? And how are your temperatures behaving?

Gpu usage is around 23-26%, Cpu usage 30-35ish%. CPU max temp was 77 degrees, Gpu max temp was 58 degrees

Low GPU usage results in the GPU switching to a lower power state which causes stutters. You'd want your GPU above 90% while gaming.

Limit your framerate to something which does put a load on the GPU.

CPU usage seems low because most games don't use many CPU cores and your CPU has plenty.

The task manager shows the average usage, not the usage per core.

Maybe use something like AMD Ocat, MSI Afterburner or Intel PresentMon.

Still no info on the CPU cooler you use. 😕

So i looked at each core individually and some peaked around 70% usage, most of the time coasting around 55%, I did notice the gpu was going back and forth with a no limit load active and voltage limit active, just bounces back and forth. I dont know if my 3070 was doing is as i never looked. Cpu temperature was fine, peaked at 74 degrees. Decided to do a fresh install of windows. Will update when i retest
