5600x + 6800(xt)

12100f will get obliterated by a used 5600x even if you disable 2 cores on the 5600x simply due to the clockspeed gap, not to mention having 2 extra cores, 5600(x) are about 80-100$ used and carry no risk, you can also opt to cheap out on the cpu if you wanna upgrade something like the gpu in which case theres the 3600(x) at 50-60$

Used midranger b3/450 like the gaming plus/tomahawk, alot better than whatever garbage <100$ board you can get new on both amd and intel sides not to mention far cheaper

Upgraded ssd for the same price

Used 6800(xt) for ~300$ cause an rx 580 for 130$ is highway robbery when theyre worth around 50$ for the 8gb variants, doesnt belong in a >300$ build unless its a stopgap gpu since it still performs like a gtx 1060

Dont bother buying a new case since thats just gonna take budget away from the actually important parts, just look for cheap used cases or someone throwing em out for free

Id highly reccomend a used 750/850w rmx or equivalent which can be found for 40-60$ but if you want new the psu in the list is the cheapest option thats worth buying (not warrantyless garbage with a <10 year warranty and no low wattage so its actually futureproof)

Note: I already have another 8 gig stick of ddr4 @ 3200 mhz ram

And send a picture of both label and the black ram ics to identify ic so you can buy a matching stick, if its got a heatspreader send a thaiphoon burner screenshot instead

Buy used if you want a good machine thatll perform well and last awhile whilst still having a decent upgrade path (board will handle a 5800x3d, psu can be carried forward for years to come)

Buy new if you want a pos that not only has no upgrade path but no futureproofing and no performance (rubbish board, pathetic throwaway psu that cant be carried over to a future build or an upgrade)

Thing about tight budgets like 550$ is the diff between used and new is very drastic for performance and the all around build outside of performance like the psu which is a difference between a unit you can carry over to new builds or upgrade for years to come and a pos that wont even last you an upgrade or gpu wise youll get a pile of shit that isnt very good like that new rx 580 vs a 5700xt for the same price used that performs better than a gtx 1080

Its unlike higher budgets where maybe youll get a tier or 2 lower gpu if you buy new instead of used (ex new 7800xt instead of a used 6950xt) and thats about it for performance, as for the rest of the build no real effect either since 90$ gets you a solid 850w that is not warrantyless (10 year warranty)

Budget (including currency): 550$

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Less intensive games at 900-1080p 60hz lowest graphics settings

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dHp8Cd
Any tips welcome!
Note: I already have another 8 gig stick of ddr4 @ 3200 mhz ram

You don't need an aftermarket cooler

With just $30 more you could get a new 6600 rather than a used dying 580

Also a sturdier PSU

Hello... With such a limited budget there are not a whole lot of options for you to go with. You could go the used route and take a chance that all the used parts will work, I wouldn't do that. Secondly as a rule of Thumb you never mix and match RAM. This can lead to serious problems with the PC and it might not even work at all. Your safer option is to just get a new Kit of RAM. I highly recommend buying all new parts if you can afford it. All that being said I have 2 options for you that are both with a APU or iGPU (Integrated Graphics on the CPU). 1. A AM4 Platform with a Ryzen 5 5600g. This will allow you to get up and running and even play some Games at really low FPS until you can get a regular GPU, I recommend the AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT for this Build. 2. A AM5 Platform with the newest CPU that just came out. The Ryzen 5 8600g. The iGPU in this is almost like having a RX 7600 and will get you about 40-120 FPS in many Games. This option is a bit over your budget but gives you the best possible outcome for now until you can get a GPU like the RX 7600 XT 16GB for about $330-$350 and it puts you on the newest PC Platform and you won't have to upgrade the CPU, Motherboard, & RAM at all. Please let me know what you think and I can answer any questions you might have.

Im choosing his specific ram in mind that I have the same exact one already. I got this ram from my friend he didn't need it anymore and he had the packaging still.

Even so if you mix RAM of the same kind, brand, and SKU it can still cause problems unless the RAM came in the EXACT SAME KIT!

I know from personal experience and have learned the hard way. I'm just saying that you are taking a risk that doesn't need to happen given that you can get a 16GB Kit of DDR4 RAM for around $30-$35.

Exception being samsung and hynix oem rams as they are guaranteed to come with the exact same ic for a given part number (ex m378a1k43db2 samsung 8gbit d die)

Is it bare pcb or xmp?

If xmp send a thaiphoon burner screenshot or atleast the version number of the kit to determine ram ic, then look for an oem ram with the exact same ic to guarantee xmp compatibility

Mismatching the ics may work but xmp may not always work and sometimes some ics just hate eachother so much that they wont even post if theyre in the same board together

Micron rev r

Looking at the little information available looks to be a pretty shit die

id just attempt to resell the thing since its still 3200c22 bin and buy some different oem rams, should be able to find some ppl selling a buncha oem rams on sites like facebook

Since 16gb is the desired capacity id reccomend double sided 8gb 2133 samsung or hynix sticks since these are dual rank (free performance boost) you can lazy tune to 3800 with trfc 250-300 that will obliterate any new 3200/3600 xmp kit and you save abit of cash in the process

Btw theres nothing wrong with buying xmp sticks unless you are being scammed by stuff like 3600c16 16-19-19 garbage non samsung bdie

The two valid bins for set and forget are 3200c16 and 3600c18, you enable xmp in bios with just a click and be done with it

Just that buying oem sticks will give you alot more performance with manual tuning (easy at <4000 but abit time consuming) and also being able to pick the rank config and ics unlike xmp rams where its random
