On-Board RAID with Z87

Hi Everyone, 

 

I was planning on doing a RAID configuration with two 160 gig hard drives (exactly identical) but at the same time use a Samsung 840 Evo 120 Gig for OS and stuff

What I am confused about is that if I do configure the 2x160's and have the SSD, will the chipset combine the SSD as well

 

So basically my question is will I be able top RAID the 2 160's and still have a SSD plugged in and be able to use that as a different drive etc.

yes. install the os onto ssd without any other drives installed. install the 2 drives. raid them

it will only put in the array what you ask it to

you choose the drivs you want in the array
