Hi there, i'm looking to buy a pc gaming/workstation for apps like After Effects, Cinema4d (redshift) and gaming. This is what i've currently come up with and wanted to check if everything in this build works together and if there is anything to be tweaked. Will be adding a rm1000x shift as well.

Any advice would be kindly appreciated 😄

Yeah, looks solid.  The 14700K is a good dual-use CPU actually.

You could probably cut corners and save a buck or two, but it's within reason.  Good stuff.

In my honest opinion,  motherboard is an overkill, could get a cheaper one and add an extra SSD. What’s your budget? The rest looks good on first look, just don’t forget to buy a quality power supply as well.

A few thoughts:

- The Strix 4080 is likely to be rather overpriced (no price showing).

- Your memory might be a little optimistic (I don't know what 14700K's achieve with 64GB, on average).

- I believe the freezer is quite thick, so you might want to double check it fits if you're going for the roof.

Thank you! Yeah i've done a lot of researching and just looking at benchmarks and this fit my budget/what it's going to be used for the best. Don't know a lot about PC's 😄

I had a great deal on the Strix so i just went with that and it has great cooling which is handy as the system will be doing some overtime rendering stuff haha. I'm planning on doing a lot of 3D simulations on Houdini (3D app) and animations / simulations take up a huge amount of ram some people might even say 64 is not enough. The arctic should fit i went off of this youtube video (also love how this build looks).

What motherboard would be a good option? I just went off some benchmarks for the plus version but saw that that one had an "error" that it might needed a bios update that's why i decided to go with the pro as it supports 14th gen out of the box. This is my first time building a pc and don't really want to make it to difficult as i also don't know a lot about this stuff (just did a lot of research). I'm going with the RM1000X Shift as PSU (clearance should be enough)

That cpu is the equivalent of a 13900KS. If anything you want a board with rock solid VRM's.

That Asus board in your build comes with Asus EZ Flash 3 so even if that board doesn't have the updated bios you can update them without having to install the cpu and memory.

Three changes I see. First change is the case.

This case is optimal for the Arctic AIO's seeing how they are thick. This case has two settings ... one for watercooling and one for air cooling. That and it's the best case right now for the money. No need for the Shift with this case. Save your money and get the Corsair 1000e.

Second change I would make is the cpu. The unlocked version of that cpu can run hot when it goes into turbo boost. Look at the locked version of that cpu which gives you near identical performance without the heat issues.

Third change is the RAM. Less expensive and G.Skill DDR5 is rock solid.
