Trouble with RTX 3080

Tomass45

I got rtx 3080 and games were crashing randomly example lol - max 10 mins and it says restarting gpu drivers, all games i can play on ultra and when loading to next game or turning off game all programs like restart. Tried latest driver and my fps in palworld were 40-60 and did clean install 1 month older gpu driver and now more 150+ fps. Now my pc crash to black screen while watching youtube only way to turn it off, sounds keeps going.

Btw I tried new windows, psu, ram, drivers with DDU, clean windows and all.

Main specs I put in screenshot. Ofc I will write more info if needed.

Btw Im not sure about GPU hot spot temperature - idle 70C + turned on iCX mode in evga

GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080: EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 ULTRA GAMING

Thanks for all help.... Trying to fix for 3 weeks already.

Have you tried reseating the gpu? Also if you can try it in another system to check if it's the gpu or maybe a bad motherboard/cpu.

I edit my messages more than not –

Probably some dude on the internet

Before I had rtx 2070s and all worked fine. All temps are amazing in gaming.

Example now: Game The Finals played for hour and no problem with good fps and high settings but when I turned it off pc went black screen

Removed 2x8gb ram what was before when rtx 2070s worked and still crashed.

Another example: I can play PalWorld on ultra locked 120 fps and 120 fps all time and game crashed only once when entering loading screen, played total of 20h without problem.

GPU temp at 55C/72C hotspot *IDLE* is way too high, should be 25C below that !

With these temps card may/will overheat while gaming

Either paste dried, fans don't spin, ambient is 40C or case is utterly choked

Which psu you got ? how did you connect it to the gpu ?

To me it sounds like insufficient power.

Rn BeQuiet 600W and yeah its enought I was checking W usage and still ok(benchmarks and all without problem on ultra), before tested NZXT C750 Bronze - 750W and nothing changed (tested in pc for 2 weeks)

Weird thing is that benchmark unique heaven 4.0 was running on ultra stable 300-500 fps for 2h and no problem. (gpu temp max 81C after 2h)

Next question : how do you connect the psu to the gpu ? one cable daisy chained or 2 cables ?

I'm willing to swim against the current.

Fans are not spinning while not playing, tested ICX mode in evga and still like same but like 5-10C lower.

Mmm I had one 3080 some time ago, but it was watercooled ...so it was 25C idle/60C full load, maybe that gave me bad reference temps 🙂

This BeQuiet have 2 cables. (nzxt had only 1) I readed like 15151x posts, so yeah I tested seperate PCIe and nothing changed.

Yes Yes, I tested all that max settings on ultra gaming (only some games cause some crashes isntantly or after some minutes) new games (PalWorld, Rust, etc..) max 81-83C

I dont get it, even tested drivers from 2021...

Games I can play all on ultra and no freeze and all, expect some titels like lol and minecraft, btw minecraft crashes after 5 sec and lol in 5-15 min max.

Seems like when turning off some games restart drivers and some loading screens crashes game too. I do not know what to do anymore.....

My last thing was motherboard cause no support pcie 4.0 and not supported gpu in motherboard support list

Could it be Ram ? did you run a Memtest86 or at least a Testmem5 ?

Also 16GB can get tight, just saying

Tested MemTest64 and no error, It was with kit 4x8gb and xmp off and even tested xmp on and all and tested old ram and then new ram and still same.

Rn I tested old rams I mean without new and It was same so now i put back that 2x8 kit.. so now 4x8gb like It was before.
