I am being electrocuted by my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 when it is charging...

No I am not joking... I always thought it was my imagination, but I noticed a slight tingling sensation when touching the outer bezel of my phone when it is charging.

This started happening about 6-months ago, but I thought it was my imagination. However, as of yesterday, the feeling is now more intense and unpleasant. I did some online research on it and apparently, this is very common with all phones?!

I can even feel it when touching the screen, even if the device is not plugged in and running on the battery alone. (But it is only slightly noticeable.)

Yes I'm using the official charger and have had the device for about 20-months, but it's outside warranty. It also happens at multiple plug outlets.

I love the device, but the folding screen started showing heavy signs of wear 6-months ago and has put me off buying another Fold phone again. The front screen was also peeling. Quite shoddy really, given the price of the device. I have been a Samsung fanboy since the Galaxy S4, but this has certainly changed my view on them.

I hate to be 'that tinhat guy', but I truly feel like they designed their folding phones (the Z Fold 3 anyway) to fail quite quickly...

I have now deviatied away from Samsung for the first time in over a decade and I'm giving the Google Pixel a try. (Non-fold).

---

Anyone else ever experienced the electrifying effect on a mobile before?

Also happy to hear from other Z Fold3 users.

it's pretty common yea, but there are some basic rules for it to happen.

you cannot get any voltage potential without completing a connection between two points, its more complicated than this but eh.
point a will be your phone cable, the phone is connected to the cable, the cable is connected to the charger/wall socket.
point b can be any metal surface also connected to power.
the fault will be one of these two points.

a normal quality charger completely isolates your cable and connected phone from the wall power. A broken or low quality charger often doesnt.
in short, replace your charger, and consider a professional to come out and inspect your house for a potential "ground fault" or "floating ground" situation
