Gpu not displaying

Go to solution Solved by Tony28,

MSI just dropped a new BIOS update today which looks like it's solved the problem! Thank you for everyone that tried help solve this issue.
If anyone's dealing with a similar issue, consider rolling back your BIOS update to the second latest version to rule out any BIOS-related problems.

I'm facing an issue where my monitor doesn't turn on when connected to my GPU. However, when I switch the HDMI cable from the GPU to the motherboard's HDMI port, the PC starts up and displays correctly. Additionally, I've observed that if I keep the monitor connected to the GPU and press the reset button on my PC case, it successfully starts up.

I've attempted the following troubleshooting steps:

-Reset the CMOS using both methods—removing and reinserting the battery, and jumping the two terminals.

-Moved the GPU from PCIE 1 (top slot closest to CPU) to PCIE3 (2nd slot at the bottom), and the PC booted without issues. However, I understand that this placement may lead to performance problems.

- i have the latest bios available for motherboard

Not sure if it is a board issue or what other steps I can take, as I do not have access to another PC to do a board swap. Any help is much appreciated.

RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 (2 x16GB)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X

GPU: Asus Nvidia RTX 4070

Thank you all for your help! I've tried a few things but unfortunately, I'm still experiencing the same issue (apologies for the long reply).

Here's what I've done:

1. Uninstalled all Nvidia drivers using DDU and then reinstalled all drivers.

2.When I first start up my computer, the monitor doesn't receive any signal from the graphics card. However, if I unplug the HDMI cable from the graphics card and connect it to the motherboard while the computer is still running, the monitor shows that Windows has booted up.

3.I've attempted to disable secure boot, but it hasn't made any difference.

4.I also changed the settings in the BIOS to force the display through the GPU on startup. Now, when I initially boot up, I see a white light on my motherboard indicating that the "GPU is not detected or has failed." However, if I press the reset button on the PC case, the white light disappears, and Windows starts up normally.

I am not sure what to make of this information and what could be the issue.
