Intel i9 14900kf undervolting support

Hey everyone,

wondering if there are any amazing people that can help me.

I recently built a new pc and have been told that it would be a good idea to undervolt my intel core i9 14900kf as I am using a Noctua NHd15 cooler and its just not cutting the mustard when trying to run a stress test on cinebench.

I'm not sure what settings to change in the Bios so am looking for a bit of guidance in this area.

PC Specs:

Intel Core i9 14900kf

Noctua NHD15S Cooler

RTX4090

2 x Gskill 16gb 6400mhz

Deep Cool 1200w PSU

1TB Smasung 980 Pro

2TB Samsung 980 Pro

Gigabyte Z790 Gaming X AX ATX Motherboard

Any guidance any one can give is greatly appreciated!

download intel XTU, its an easier way to undervolt your cpu than doing it through BIOS.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/17881/intel-extreme-tuning-utility-intel-xtu.html

follow this tutorial on how to undervolt a cpu with intel XTU.

if you run into any problems there should be articles online or you can ask a question through this thread.

I installed the software but it wont run without undervolt protection enabled which means that it wont let me undervolt the cpu.

this article should help https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000093813/processors/processor-utilities-and-programs.html#:~:text=Intel® XTU is unable,Intel® Core™ Processor.

all you need to do (dont quote me on this) is to enable undervolt protection in the bios, the setting should be in the bios in advanced settings. XTU should work after that.

if XTU still doesnt work after that you can always undervolt the cpu through the bios. it will be the same procedure as using XTU (slight tweak, stress test, repeat until limit reached) just with a different UI.

edit: there are other solutions, such as upgrading you cooler, best one in my opinion is the asus rog ryujin iii 360 aio liquid cooler. or if the cpu is not always running at 100% like in cinebench, then it might not even be necessary to undervolt or upgrade. you can try using HWMONITOR or another monitoring software to tell if your cpu is overheating running your general tasks.
