So i recently picked up a refurbed HD 7870 Ghz for $120.I know that 1 card is always better but i can pick another one up for the same price is it worth it?I mean for $240 i get something that performs simialar to a 290.And when the GEN of cards come out i could sell these for like $100 each and pick up a 390 (assuming they call it that.)

See what the performance is like with one, if you are not satisfied, get a 2nd.

Crossfire is great, but you need to weigh up whether the upgrade is worth it. If you are getting acceptable performance with one card, the upgrade is probably not worth it (save yourself a few dollars). There is no frame pacing support for Directx 9.x (as far as I'm aware) so you will see some stuttering in old games using Crossfire.

If you feel you need more performance then by all means go for it. New titles play very well and you will see a nice performance improvement.
