if I have file1 on computer A and I have file 1 on computer B both on windows, how can I keep them both updated? Would it possible to have a dynamic symlink with two files over the same network(is that even possible)? Using cloud storage for me is possible but I really prefer having local copies instead. Thanks in advance 🙂

You'll need to use something like Microsoft's OneDrive or host your own NextCloud/ownCloud.

 

That will keep the file on each computer in sync with the server hosting the service, and as such in sync between the computers

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply

I think this is what you are looking for 

Chris uses syncthing to sync the game save files for games that dont have online game saves between his computers.
