Hello,

I have the problem that my AIO fans ramp up and down all the time while gaming or just while browsing.

I tried so much regarding my fan curve and other settings. (eg. step up and down timings)

On the attached screenshot you can see my current bios settings. What could I change to get this to work better?

My system specs:

13900k,

Arctic liquid freezer ii 420 aio,

MSI Z790 Tomahawk

Help would be very appreciated.

Thanks

Step up time is too low. Your curve is too linear. Edit: also why did you set your AIO as "Pump"?

Pretty sure they were not asking for that.

I mean, yes, youre not wrong, but i find the software much easier to work with and being able to change them on the fly saves the headache of restarting etc, i find the percentages much easier to deal with than step up and down timings.

So i thought id recommend it as a part of a solution to help with fixing the issue stated

Thanks for the reply! Step up time is already maxed out.. I dont know why 0.7 is the max

Asus has some kind of fan smoothing option but here in this msi bios i cannot find anything similar exept the step up time

What part of the curve would you suggest me to change?

I have plugged it into the pump header insted of cpu.. is this a problem? I thought this would be the way to do it^^ should i change it?

I really would like to do it in bios because i dont want any more software to run in the background. But i will test it, if i cannot get it working in bios thanks!

Rather let the pump in the pump header, and have it run at 95% constantly

For the fans, I prefer to have an "idle" (low temp) speed around 40%, it makes a very slight noise, that helps making ramp up less noticeable ; and it' doesn't go from 0 to 20% then 30% then 15% etc 🙂

After that starting at 50C or so I use "steps" of +15% /15-20C so that speed changes much less frequently

Then for the max speed it depends on the temp your CPU can reach, and as it is a 13900K I suspect you need a high speed, I'd still cap it at 90-95%

I also use FanControl as the BIOS UI is very bad !

For my AIO the pump and fans are combined into one header. I would have to rewire it completely to get that serperated. This would be the last thing I want to do 😞

You've used a splitter to join pump and fans to the same header ? It's a bad idea, it makes for a strong amperage on one header

I think the pump is on a 3pin PWM, so not controllable anyway

Ok then it has to be a 3pin header to the pump that runs 100%

So let it plugged in the Pump header that has more amps, and adjust fans speed only
