idk anything about pc fans, can i run my Arctic p12 pwm pst in DC mode for the very specific reason i want it to not spin when my pc is just idle, this is only the case fan not the cpu fan obv.

You can, but if you have the option to run it in PWM mode you really should.

That fan should have a 0db mode, where in PWM mode if it's set below 5% should turn off.

In PWM or DC you should find a low enough setting that it doesn't turn on.

and any good fan software will have the ability to shut the fan down if the system is below a certain temprature..
