Looking for a photo-printer

I am looking for a printer for photos. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive model that delivers reasonable quality?
I usually have my photos printed, but that can be a bit of a hassle if you only need one or two prints.
My initial research has led me to the SELPHY printer from Canon, which looks pretty good.
Does anyone here have any experience of what models to consider and what I should take a closer look at?

The SELPHY printer is dye-sub, and I think that tech makes better prints than photo paper in an inkjet.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
