Control panel not opening, environment variables

cyclohexane

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to open Nvidia Control Panel but I get this error every time.

I assume one of my environment variables is messed up but I'm not sure what the variable name is so that I can manually add it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Please go into advanced settings and provide a screenshot of what you have in the system variables list (Win+R, type SystemPropertiesAdvanced in the run box then on the System Properties window the bottom button "Environment Variables")

Hmm, you seem to be missing the temp variables? Try running "temp" from the run dialog (win+r)

This is what I have. I do remember deleting a lot of temp files a while ago but I thought they didn't matter?

Can you try adding the TEMP and TMP system variables if you dont have them?

What should the value for the variables be?

For both TEMP and TMP?

Correct. I'm not sure if it needs a restart for the variables to get refreshed but you could do that just incase.

Glad its fixed! Please remember to use the quote button next time so people get notified when you reply. Also mark my post as a solution (where i specified you're missing the temp variables) so people searching for this problem in the future can quickly see what the solution is.
