Hello there,

my PC sometimes crashes for absolutetly no reason.

I thought, that it was because of my PSU, but an online calculator said, that about 560 Watts should be enough, my PSU has 700 Watts. I can't find the problem, it happens at least once a day, when I use my PC.

The issue only exists since I have the RTX 4070, before I had an GTX 1650. With that one I had no problems at all.

I'd like to notice, that I have a few internal HDDs and a few SSDs.

Is there a way to see what causes this problem?

It mainly happens when I play games btw.

Thank you already!

Can you list full PC specs please?
Have you tried DDU to clean the Nvidia drivers and do a clean install?

I did a clean install of Windows recently, as I changed my Disk for Windows, the Problems started with the GPU change.

DDU would remove all graphics drivers so you can do a complete fresh reinstall. It stands for Display Driver Uninstaller, its a program.

If you did a full clean windows install then that is likely not going to help but its worth a shot.

Could you be more specific on the PSU?  is it a Toughpower, TR2, Smart etc?

How does the system crash? Does it turn off completely?

The PSU is a Thermaltake SMART SERIES POWER SUPPLY Kabylake Ready Ultra Queit 120mm Fan Smart RGB 700W

I currently have 2 GPU drivers installed. For the GTX 1650 and RTX 4070 both Studio drivers, not Game Ready drivers, as the game ready drivers don't really work with one game I really like to play.

The sytsem crash is always completely, the display goes dark, with all USB periperals and about 1 Second later the PSU shuts off.

I would bet its your PSU causing this issue and not the drivers. A full system crash is more likely a PSU Problem. That being said!, Your PSU is absolutely horrible and should not be used.

Get a new PSU regardless if its the problem or not.. I would start there.

In the PSU Tier list its under – Tier F • Replace immediately!

I know that it is not so good, I already plan on getting a new about 1000Watts PSU with a 80 Platinum rating for efficenzy. But htanks, I will note that one down. I will come bak here when I solved the problem 😉

Its worse than not so good.. Its outright dangerous!

a 1000w platinum is VERY overkill though 😄  Why can't you get something inbetween that is efficient and safe?

Rm850e for example.

Okay, but I wanna upgrade in the future and don't wanna buy a new PSu until the new one breaks. I thought about the fan version of the Cooler Master PSU that LMG made a video about from CES. Or is that too good?

I talked with someone else about this topic, and they say, that my load can be too little for a PSU of that leauge.
