Is this normal?

When I play fortnite my gpu sits around 80-95% but my cpu never goes over 10% and on Valorant my gpu sits at 40-50% and my cpu doesnt go over 5%. I just wanted to know if this was normal or if i need to try and find a solution. It's a 12600kf and a 3070

Look at the cores themselves.  The CPU as a whole may not be utilized much, but a core or two are much higher.

 

Those games don't use a lot of cores.

That sounds normal enough depending on the settings used.

 

Remember that, with the 12600KF, there are technically 10 cores and 16 threads, so CPU utilization counts each thread as just 6.25%. This means that, if only one thread of one P core is being pushed to almost 100%, and the rest of the cores are not doing much, you'd end up with around 5% utilization. This is the case for a good number of games, as they can often be limited by processing on a single thread.

 

If you are worried that your system is under-performing, it's better to look at the actual performance that you're getting, not CPU or GPU utilization.
