RAM upgrade

Go to solution Solved by YoungBlade,

There's little harm in buying the DDR4-3200 kit. Worst case, you need to manually turn down the frequency to get it to work, which is as simple as turning on XMP, then manually setting the frequency lower, probably to DDR4-2933.

Most Ryzen 2000 series chips could handle DDR4-3200, but not all of them can, so whether it works depends a bit on the silicon lottery. But it's worth trying, as Ryzen chips with multiple CCDs, like your R5 2600, benefit greatly from increased RAM speeds.

As for the SSD, assuming this is the Samsung 970 EVO Plus, that's a very good drive. As long as you aren't paying too much for it, it's a great choice. The question is whether there are other drives available that are a lot cheaper.

Hey, I was thinking about upgrading my RAM, I checked everything and I just want to make sure that everything will work well because the RAM speeds on my MB are confusing and I'm not sure if I should go with 3200 or 2666MHz since 3200 is cheaper but don't want it to cause problems, and I'm not sure about the SSD compatibility aswell, my setup is:

CPU: AMD ryzen 5 2600

GPU: GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING OC 6G

RAM: 8GB 2400MHz  ---->  16GB 3200MHz/2666MHz

HDD: 1TB random disk  ---->  970 EVO PLUS gen3

MB: A320M-HDV

Okay, I ordered the 3200MHz RAM and thanks for reminding me about the price on the SSD because I found a cheaper site and I ordered from there, they had it for 82

Thanks for your help and for saving me 16€!
