Persistent CPU Usage Issue - Seeking Help!

Hey everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out to this knowledgeable community because I've been facing a persistent issue with my CPU running at 100%, despite multiple Windows reinstalls. It's become quite frustrating, and I'm hoping some of you might have some insights or suggestions to help me troubleshoot and resolve this issue.

Here are a few details about my system:

  • Operating System: Windows 11
  • CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G
  • RAM: 8x2 = 16 Gb Adata XPG D60G DDR4 3200MT/s
  • GPU: Gigabyte Rtx 3060

I've tried the following steps to address the problem:

  1. Windows Reinstall: I have reinstalled Windows 4 times to rule out any software-related issues.
  2. Task Manager Analysis: I've checked Task Manager to identify which processes are consuming the most CPU, but it always shows task manager is using 86% CPU
  3. Drivers: I made sure all my drivers are up-to-date, including graphics, chipset, and peripherals.
  4. Malware and Antivirus Scan: I've run thorough scans using Windows Defender and Hitman Pro to ensure there are no malware or virus-related issues.

Despite these efforts, the problem persists. If any of you have experienced a similar issue or have suggestions on how to troubleshoot further, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Some additional questions I have:

  • Are there any specific applications or tasks that seem to trigger the 100% CPU usage?
  • Have you encountered this issue after a specific software installation or update?
  • Are there any error messages or warnings in the Event Viewer that might provide clues?

Your expertise and insights would be invaluable in helping me resolve this issue. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance!

Best regards,

Drago

This sounds like malware.

Do you have another disk you can install windows on? Remove the current disk from the system first. You don’t want to contaminate the new drive if it is malware. Also use a fresh usb stick and use the windows install creation tool to create the bootable usb on a separate computer.

Iam having the exact same problem right now. Check my post and try checking WMI-Activity mike i did. Our issue could be caused by the same thing. We might find the a solution together.
