Pc not displaying anything

Hi so I recently got a Ryzen 5 5500 for my pc because I originally had a Ryzen 3 1200 and my motherboard is a msi a320m by the way. I updated the bios before I got the new CPU to the most recent version. So then when I got the CPU it didn't display anything, all the fans were spinning and the debug LEDs were turning on and it says it boots but then restarts the process and stays on CPU for a bit, then all LEDs turn off completely. So then I put my old cpu back in and now it still doesn't display anything even though it was before. I also forgot to mention I did a hard reset with the CMOS battery at the start of this, that also won't go in properly now by the way but when I put it down and hold it there while PC turns on it still doesn't display anything. Please help

Sometimes a hardware change takes several reboots to settle in and take effect.

 

Having to hold the CMOS battery in place? What did you do, pry it out with a screwdriver?

What ram are you using?
