So i just got a 3080 12gb and so needed to upgrade my psu i have the 3080 paired with an i5 10600 and a z490 motherboard i was wondering if a cv 750 watt psu from corsair is good enough to power this build. I do know that the cx series is better but unfortunately i cant find them where i live

Where do you live? Whats your budget?
CV is a very low end series, it should work but the 3080 likes to spike a lot in power.

I would use something better.

I read up on the 3080s transient spikes and they seem at worst to be 450 watts on the highest end models and let say that the power supply is above its testing temperature of 30 degrees and can only output 650 watts that still leaves a 200 watts for the locked i5 10600 and the rest of the components which might be fine ( btw its a palit gamingpro rtx 3080 12gb so not the most power hungry 3080 out there)

I would still try to get a B:Tier PSU over a C:Tier for a 3080.
Palit makes excellent and high end cards, Palit is actually the largest GPU manufacturer in the world! Beating MSI, Gigabyte and ASUS quite comfortably actually 🙂

Use the PSU Tierlist to check for PSU's you can purchase and see if they at least fall into the B:Tier.

Stay way from the Gigabyte GP-P750GM.

Let me know what you come up with, I would love to learn more about availiability in other countries.

I found the Antec NeoECO NE750G its 15 dollars more expensive but the peace of mind might be worth it it has a gold label there is one with a similar name in B tier is it that one?

If you wanna spend more prefferably get one with a 10 year warranty, absolute bare minimum 7 year warranty if used psus dont exist in your country since the warranty is the only merit of buying new

That psu does atleast have a 7 year warranty but 10 year warranty is prefferable if its only a diff of like 10$

maybe send some screenshots of what psu options are available and also a link to whatever website you are buying from
