I don't know if this is the right section but an UPS is a peripheral (right?). Anyway long story short, the plugs that are in my gaming room are bad. Meaning both of my monitors are turning off when someone in the house flips a switch or the microwave finished microwaving(And yes i have tried to switch the plugs). I need an UPS to hold and protect the kingdom. I have 1 gaming pc , 2 monitors(future 3) ,1 router and i use occasionally  the PS5. Live in the UK and money up to 200 pounds(i don't know the prices for these things really).

Do the monitors actually turn off or do they lose signal?

I'm running my TV on a very long HDMI cable and switching the ceiling fan off kills the signal...

Maybe try different (better) cables and try to keep display cables seperated from power cables under your desk

No they just started to do this after I moved house, so is not that. And I wanted an UPS anyway.

Well maybe the old place had better wiring 🙂

Anyways... to "clean" the power you need at least a line-interactive UPS.

To chose one we would need: Constant power use, peak power use and expected mains downtime from you

The Eaton Ellipse Pro 650 could work and is really the only one within your budget (that I know of), but it's only 400W.

I'd get a 1000VA or higher in your situation. Consumer UPS's aren't designed for sustained load bearing, mostly infrequent blips of power, but if its happening multiple times per day, it might be frequent enough to prevent the battery from fully charging. Most 1000VA or higher units will have dual batteries versus a single battery, given your circumstances, being better in my opinion.

That would be 1000/1200/1500VA, usually these units comes with USB ports to charge some devices, displays that show wattage draw and other stats. Even a 1500VA with a +700W load will only last less than 1 minute, if that puts it into perspective (long enough for me to run to the circuit breaker and reset it at least 😄).

Depending on your CPU/GPU will depend on how much power it draws, medium tier system being 300W or more. Each monitor being ~50W, a router being maybe 10W.

I have a 2080ti with Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core. I am looking more to protect the PC and the monitors and i care less if the power goes. To be fair never went. So can you recommend some please since i have no idea. Any wattage and i will see if i can stretch the budget as long as is a good one

This is the UPS I personally use with my system listed in my signature. I don't know if this will be something available to you in your area or not.

I'm not familiar with UK retailers, so I would recommend searching on your local retailer's website unless there's one you can provide.

A surge protector could 'protect the PC and monitors', a UPS is designed to handle intermittent losses in power that aren't for extended periods and provide safe shutdown for computers that NEED it to not corrupt/lose data like servers. If your intent isn't to allow for 1-2 second or so losses in power that may occur due to electrical issues, then I'd just get a surge protector.

I personally think a UPS is a wonderful addition to any gaming PC, one large enough to handle the whole setup, but worst case, at least keeps the computer from losing power. A 2080ti and 9900k isn't a low end system from a power draw perspective, so you'd want at minimum a 650VA being ~500W unit.

If the UPS's capacity is insufficient for the load, it'll scream at you, since the inverter in the unit is only designed for a certain amount of output. That's where its beneficial to overbuy on the unit, especially since paying more almost always comes with more features like USB ports, displays, standardized batteries, etc. Usually those features get added at the 1000VA tier and higher.

I mostly buy APC UPS's but there's several different models I've bought over the years. I have a few dozen I manage as well, some being very important because of electrical issues at work with some heavy machinery that causes critical machines to lose power whenever it starts.
