Skak2000

Hey
A friend have a problem with the files on his HDD.

Many of the files turn to 0 byte files.

Many of the files have now a file size of 0 byte and it not possible to delete the files.

More and more files start turning in to 0 kb / folders.

It is possible to move the files to another folder, but not possible to delete.

All the problems files start look like folders now. (Se pictur)

Have any one have the same problem and found a solution? Is this Bit rot or is the HDD simpel going bad?

Thanks for reading.

That HDD is definitely dying.

You can use the software CrystalDiskInfo to see exactly what's wrong with it; that's a classic example of bad sectors though.

First guess for the drive in there: Seagate; second: Toshiba
