What is better?

I wanted to know, if the Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC GeForce RTX 4070 12 GB Video Card is better than the Gigabyte GAMING OC Radeon RX 7800 XT 16 GB Video Card.

I know that i can use benchmark things, but i dont know how to use this. can sb please help and quickly tell me with one is better

Check this video out by Hardware Unboxed. It shows the 4070 vs the 7800 XT

Easy to understand and you can make up your own opinion.

They are very close in terms of performance.

The 7800 XT is cheaper, has more VRAM and is 3% faster on average.

The 4070 is IMO the better card no questions unless the 7800XT is much much cheaper. You get a 2-4% performance with RT off on the 7800XT, but in general the 4070 is much faster and has a proper upscaler. Neither of these cards are 4K so I don't really mind the 12gb vs 16gb.

 

Also the 4070 has much better power mangement and lesser power draw.
