SMB not using same creds as local IP and public IP

DashAki

Hello All,

I am trying to enable SMB to my own computer.

I am successfully accessing the SMB using local IP and creds.

I have enabled the SMB port for public IP and the IP can be accessed from other PCs but asking for Network credentials.

When I use the same creds that I am using for local IP, it gives the incorrect message.

How can I access my SMB from outside my network without any 3rd party app?

Thanks & Regards,

Dash

It's unsafe to expose SMB to the internet.

You should set up a VPN server and VPN in when you're outside and need access.

Hi @Kilrah

Thanks for your insight.

I do not know about networking at all, how can I set up a personal VPN for free and with decent speed?
