Need Help PC Crashing randomly

Go to solution Solved by Jyeu,

Okay so a week after testing with original power PCI-E cables no crashing. Its been resolved!

Hey everyone running into a random issue that started happening recently. My PC crashes at random where my monitors (dual) will just disconnect and audio completely stops. I've uninstalled windows and did a fresh install, uninstalled GPU drivers in safe mode using the DDU. Performed CMOS reset. Reverted everything back to default no undervolt or overclocks. Not sure what's causing the PC to do this.

PC Specs:
Gigabyte X570i

32 GB RAM DDR4

Ryzen 7 5800X3D

MSI RTX 4090 Gaming X trio

1000w PSU

Machine is a custom liquid build but I do not see any signs of overheating. This happens very randomly. Sometimes PC will not have any issues for a whole week other times when the machine is at login it'll do it then. Or when im watching a youtube video maybe 15-20 minutes after machine booted. Very sporadic.

Ok, nothing there. Do you have anything in C:\minidump?

if so, post the dump file here. It doesn’t have any personally identifying info that you’d need to worry about.

I don't have a mini dump folder unfortunately...I can set one up and reduplicate the issue pretty sure it'll happen again.

Try turning off fast boot in bios. If that doesn't work I would try a different PSU if you have access to one.

Fast boot has always been disabled on my PC. I did have an issue with the power supply cable because it did come from cablemod but then had that RMA'd for a new one and it worked fine. I just don't know what changed to cause both my displays to go off and the audio definitely cuts off as well. The DP cables I use I changed out as well thinking it could be faulty ones but tried to new ones and they work and same issue happened with them as well. Even my monitors will say DP not detected on both monitors

Here’s the minidump setup info: https://www.stellarinfo.com/blog/how-to-use-a-minidump-file-to-fix-blue-screen-of-death-bsod-error/

If there is nothing in event viewer and no dump file is created, it means there is a hard power off event. Either the psu or one of the components is causing a sudden power off.

Appreciate it. Let me reboot the machine. It'll happen usually right after rebooting

When the error occurs Do the fans and lights stay on? What do you have to do to reboot?

Okay so just now monitors only disconnected. Audio kept playing in the background. Had to hit the reset button to restart the PC again. Was only watching a youtube video and generating some AI images. Just did a bios update to the latest version as well after this happened.

Think I may have found the culprit. Second PCIE cables from Cablemod worked at first and I guess its starting to fail again. Loaded up Cyberpunk 2077 on max settings and PC GPU crashed along with the audio. Tested once with dedicated PCIE cables that came with the PSU and its working much longer. Usually It would crash around first 2 minutes being in game or at character creation. Letting the game stay on for an hour to see if shuts off
