Nope. You'll be fine.

I have a 980ti with a 4770k and neither component appears to be holding the other one up.

980ti vs 1660S = 980ti wins a bit

Depends on the game, but if it does bottleneck all you gotta do is crank the graphics

As for the gpu itself 1660s are kinda meh unless you get em <100$ when used 5700(xt) or 6600(xt) are 120-150$ and used 1070/1080 probs around the 100$ mark

Btw is this a 4770 non k or a 4770k? Cause if its a k just overclock it to ~4.8ghz and run your rams as fast as possible (anywhere from 2400 with garbage 4gbit samsungs to 3200+ with 2/4gbit hynixes) and now theres less of a bottleneck

Have you thought about a used 1080Ti, they are a great value for money right now.

I might be experienced, but I'm human and I do make mistakes. Expand for common PC building advice, a short bio and a list of my components and other tech. I edit my messages after sending them alot, please refresh before posting your reply. Common build advice: 1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

What country?

How about those used amd 5700(xt) or 6600(xt)?

And whats the price for the 1660s you wanna get?

Since the cpu is a 4770k

What mobo?

What rams and the ram config (ex 2x8, 4x4, 4x8, etc.)?

What cooler?

Looks like a rather weak 92mm tower but that shouldnt be too much of an issue aside from maybe touching tjmax (100c) when hammering it with p95 smallest ffts while overclocked

What particular z87? If you arent sure of the model just send a pic

As for the rams send a screenshot of thaiphoon burner and cpuz, just hope theyre hynixes and not garbage samsungs
