Ubuntu Version upgrade

To put it bluntly, Ive had issues with in place upgrades with Windows in the past. I have a machine running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. Seems to be unsupported earlier this year and I just didnt catch it. Was going to upgrade to 22.04. Would it be best to do the in place upgrade OR should I just reinstall cleanly?

If you've got the time, why not try the in place upgrade. Depends on what/if you want to preserve from the old installation and how much you want a fresh OS base.

I want the least painful experience. I use this machine as my Plex server. So setup auto mounting of my NAS and other Plex related things.

If setting back up everything would be quite troublesome for you, try the in place upgrade. If it fails, you can always fresh install.
