Macbook pro ram

Go to solution Solved by MrSuperb,

He has a 2011 Macbook Pro without a retina display. Also, does he only have to match Ram speeds or is there any other things he has to match?

any SO-DIMM DDR3 with 1333 MHz should be fine.

My friend has a Macbook Pro with 4gb of ram but he needs (wants) to get an extra 4gb. Is he able to purchase any SoDimm ram (I assumed that it would use SoDimm ram) or will he have buy the some proprietary ram?

If it is a non-Retina Macbook Pro it is most likely upgradeable. Pretty much any brand should work fine.
