Hey guys, i know this topic has been talked about to death, but im kinda at the end of my sanity.

I've looked through countless posts on the forum and everywhere on the internet but i dont seem to find anything that helps me.

Recently got an RX6600, fresh Windows install on a WD black NVME SSD, installed the drivers and everything seemed fine.

I tested out some games and immediatly was startled, most games ran just as bad as before, some even worse. Of course, i tried re-installing drivers, installing the newest experimental one, installing adrenaline etc.

Nothing worked. Now i fired up CS2 for the first time and even the game itself tells me that the drivers i have installed could cripple performance. CS2 runs with 40-60 Frames and extremely long freezes.

Does ANYONE have an idea what i could do, should i send the card back as broken? Is Windows maybe still installing some weird-funky drivers?

Where are you getting these drivers? What exactly did this message say about drivers?

Can you verify stats of the CPU and GPU while in game so we can get an idea of what's going on? Temp, usage, clockspeed. (AMD Overlay is Ctrl-Shift-O)

Yea, my bad for not doing that initially. Someone actually brought up an idea to me and i think i now know what's the problem.

My Mainboard (Prime B350 Plus) and CPU (R5 1600) are already pretty old. Now, usually with a new card the games shouldn't be running worse.

However, what i didn't account for, was that i didn't use that new NVME SSD before.

When i bought it, i knew that it was cheap. It has verry little cache and is eating up a lot of RAM. I didn't mind because i thought 16 Gigs should be enough.

When i start CS2 and have discord open in the backround, my RAM usage is almost at 15 Gigs, dunno why i didnt realize earlier. As soon as i close discord, the Frames improve.

Gonna go out and buy more RAM now that its cheap ig.

My bad for wasting your time, i learned smth new at least.
