Soundcard Microphone issues

Hi when I use a 3.5 mm headset I get good audio but my mic super low even after maxing it out in windows and any app , also it picks up desktop audio. When I use a USB headset everything works fine . My drivers are all up to date and the bios too . I guess I have an issue with my soundcard , any ideas what I can do ?

Make extra sure it's clicked in all the way. sometimes it's deceiving. Also, your PC may have 2 mic ports? One on the front/top, and one in the back. Maybe try the other if that's an option.
