Hello. I have been building PCs for over 30 years and I would like to help you here. I tweaked your list a bit and got you much better performance per dollar or bang for your buck. I also got you 2TB of storage because 1TB just isn't enough anymore and I fixed your RAM Speed Timings.

If you have any questions for me please ask and I can be reached here or if you prefer a quicker response then you can text me on Discord. Here is my Discord: Wizardsnapper#2772

I am also new to pc building, but I think you should go with a crucial p5 plus. Its pcie 4.0 1tb, same as the wd but $15 less. You can get a hdd for extra storage or just save money

1TB is not enough anymore to hold more than 2-3 games. Why spend $15 less for only 1TB when 2TB is what they need. Also why would anyone use a HDD anymore unless it's for a NAS? They are so slow compared to a SSD or M.2 and using them for games is like banging your head against the wall.

This is all just FYI. I have a ton of knowledge that I have gotten over the years by hands on experience, word of mouth, and reading articles.

hmmm i can throw in a 4070 with that price range much better than a 4060ti and instead why don't buy a 3060ti if you want to save a little money

I'm gonna sound very dismissive but for a lot of "normies" 1TB of M.2 storage is sufficient. Sure if all they play is the latest mainstream games like Warzone, Forza Horizon, Fortnite and other games on rotation that have no regard for storage optimization, they'll run out of storage somewhat soon. That being said, these same casuals are only interested in one or two games at most throughout that entire PC's life. I know one who has had Sims 4 installed since release, nothing else. One dude has L4D2 only installed, another one only ESO, another one only some ball poppers and yewels. The kids I know keep buying indie games and they rarely exceed 10GB each.

If a whole different tier of GPU is the make or break difference thanks to choosing 1TB or 2TB M.2, I'd rather choose myself and always recommend that 4070 over 2TB of storage.

But that comment about HDD's, their days for casual use are near over. I can't even use them anymore for video editing.

Hi, If you don't plan on installing or playing that many games then 1TB will be just fine. I only suggested it because it's becoming the new standard. With regards to the 4070, yes it is a better GPU but it also has less VRAM. VRAM is what matters most in games these days. with only 12GB on the 4070 people are noticing that newer games like Hogwarts Legacy, Starfield, and the new Star Wars game have reported that 12GB of VRAM struggles to keep up with different things and many suggest a GPU with 16GB of VRAM or more if they can afford it.

Competitive games are firstly optimized so that they work on lower end hardware. These games have substation playerbases that keep them alive who play from 3rd world countries on potato hardware. Your 12GB 4070 is still way ahead of the average esports player on a 1050TI/1660/RX580/590, 3060 at best user.

1080p won't really put too much pressure onto VRAM buffer, at 4k might be more relevant.

If you're running out of VRAM on a 4070 at 1080p I recommend turning the textures down from Ultra to just High first before a new GPU upgrade or even a downgrade to a 4060TI 16GB.

VRAM isn't the endgame. Plenty of high VRAM cards that run worse than newer less VRAM cards on many newer games.

Not saying there aren't some but these games are only a handful out of thousands.

Bit of scaremongering what you've said. We're not at that bridge just yet with 12GB VRAM on a mass market scale is not enough to play games. Give it a few years sure but not in the near future, definitely not for 1080p eSports games.
