I was playing games one day and i was going to open the sound mixer but i did something different; i did something i do not know that my audio just muted.

Now i have tried everything to restore or fix it but i did not succeed. The front panel doesnt detect the speakers (the speakers do work) and the back panel does detect but no audio, just  what i think static sound is or white noise

My computer is an HP media center m8425f

  • I upgraded to windows 7 ultimate 64-bit (audio still was working)
  • Asus IPIBL-LB (Benicia)
  • Intel Core 2 Quad q6700
  • I upgraded to 4gb of ram (the audio was still working after i did)
  • It was a geforce 8500gt but it broke so i changed to a gt 610 (the audio was still working after the change)
  • Integrated audio ALC88S
  • no ODD
  • a 15-in-1 card reader
  • stock 350-watt power

ughh i never used linux and idk

I'd load it on a CD or a memory stick, give it a run and see what happens. If it works in \linux, the hardware is fine. If it does not work, you can't do anything, so you'd have to get a USB sound adapter.

Compatible with Windows 95
