I going to upgrade my gpu and the budget is around £300, I’m think of getting a second hand 3070, would there be better options around this price?

You could maybe find a used 6800XT around that price although I see used US prices and am unsure what your market is like.

I would look around at 6800xt, 3070, 4060 Ti, 4070

Good luck.

Thanks, 6800xt goes for around £375-£400, so a bit out of budget and there are pretty much no used 40 series cards in uk, so thinks it’s 3070

Than time to get 4090 or at least 4080 that cost ~4-6 time more than your looking GPU for ~300£. Be realistic you can't get GPU for 4K 144Hz that cost ~300£

I don’t know what planet you’re on but you can definitely get a gpu to play at 4k 144hz for £300. I currently have a 1070 and get 144hz+ at 4k in all the games I play (fallen order, zero dawn, overwatch 2, siege), the only one that doesn’t play at 144hz is cyberpunk where I get 60-70 fps

First Hz is not equal FPS. Second sure you can ~30 FPS  if you buy AMD that have at least 12 Gb VRAM due Nvidia you get only 8 Gb VRAM in that price. Third stop lie that you have at 4K 60-70 FPS in Cyberpunk there is plenty test and that GPU can run just ~30-40 FPS with FSR ON at lowest-medium settings at 4K You know that is not hard enter in YouTube Cyberpunk 4K GTX 1070 and you will see that no one hit 60-70 FPS on that GPU at 4K

i know fps doesnt mean hz, but i mean i play my games at 4k and get over 144 fps in everything bar cyberpunk, also vram is not as important as raw rasterisation power which at the price range 3070 is the best that i can see, unless you have a suggestion for a better alternative

Stop lie. GTX 1070 can't run basically in any game at 4K more than ~30-40 FPS. I looked now in test at YouTube there is plenty and no one run more than ~30 FPS at 4K with this GPU. Cyberpunk, Zero Dawn and VRAM is very important this days especially if you play at 4K with 8 Gb VRAM you basically can't even play any new AAA game at 4K it crash or run below 10 FPS.
