So maybe 2 months ago now I built a new pc, massive upgrade from my old build, im now rocking a RX 6700 XT 32GB ddr4 ram and a ryzen 5 5600 x.

However, I have come to realise I have a pretty big cpu bottleneck, calculators say just over a 30% bottleneck.

Newer cpus have become pinless again so I was having difficulties in looking for better cpus that would he compatible with my motherboard, the MSI B550 gaming gen 3. I really don't fancy swapping motherboards just yet so I was just hoping I could get a little help with some pinned cpus, the 5600x was around £150, and I would say for an upgraded cpu, id have a £200 MAX cap on it. Thank you for reading and I'm looking forward to hearing what you guys can come up with.

Only real upgrade in your case is the 5800X3D but it's around £300 ...

Any other 5000 chip will not give you much more, and 7000 or Intel needs new mobo (and possibly RAM) for even more money 😞

Don't trust those calculators. How's your GPU usage? If its 95%+ most of the time then there's no bottleneck.

There might be a small bottleneck on 1080p, but nothing to worry about.

AMD is supposedly releasing the 5500X3D and 5700X3D soon, the 5700X3D and the 5800X3D that already exists are the only good AM4 upgrades you can make.

Have you considered a 1440p monitor? The 5600X does not bottleneck a 6700XT on 1440p.

I don’t trust the calculators (they are all rubbish). What games are you playing where a bottleneck is noticeable? What is the GPU and CPU usage at in those games? Are the temps good?

I might be experienced, but I'm human and I do make mistakes. Trust but Verify! I edit my messages after sending them alot, please refresh before posting your reply. Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

Not to sure of cpu usage, I will try get to you about that later but my gpu usage usually stays at 99%

Then your GPU is most likely the limiting factor, not your CPU.
