If he's not gaming, what does he do? If basic web browsing, get a cheaper processor and less RAM.

For just web browsing/office work this'll save him a bit of money: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3Mn4u

You could always get an A6 if you wanna save even more.

Low end cards are not price efficient at all. YOu wont see big changes with 250 vs AMD APU.

Or just change it around for an AMD 6300 and a microatx and change to a microatx case too.

Why would you add a GPU when the OP said no gaming? Seems like a waste of money.

I know, but its good to have a GPU. I think @Shd0w2 has hit the nail on the head with that build he just put together.

I mean price to performance, it's about the same price as an OK gaming build with an FX 6300 and an R9 270. (Granted I didn't bother with Windows)

When I was looking at cheap PCs for web browsing and word documents and stuff I was looking at about $260 USD (again didn't bother putting windows in the build list)

I'd agree, if there is really no gaming on the build, I'd drop down from the A10, maybe use the cash saved to pick up an SSD, that will have a larger impact on the speed of the PC.

Why won't the PSU be changed?

because people argue about it all the time, it's annoying, I may change it but for now thats not something that need to be talked about.

as for the A10 heterogenus archetecture that is the new amd line and does more then just gaming, the gpu can help accelerate the cpu in other tasks.

also he never really specified anything beyond wanting to use it for everything and that he wants amd, I figured that a good solid system would work, and that even though he doesn't really game a good apu would still be benifical, he never mentioned any video encoding or graphic arts so that was why I went with an apu
