hello everyone!

i've been experiencing heavy battery drain on my xps 15 9510 for a while now, even though i have the "bigger" battery this model supports, i cannot get more than 3 hours away from the wall no matter the occasion.

im aware that my oled 4k display consumes more power than a normal panel, but to this extent??

for example i manually put the laptop to sleep and closed it for 20 mins, which resulted in a 10% battery drain, which is unreasonable, given that i have to shut it down every time i put it in my backpack, or it boils itself alive while killing the battery

i should mention that even though the dell app shows my battery health as "excellent", hwinfo64 shows my battery as about 25% degraded which shouldn't be normal after a year of use(imo)

also, i did not reinstall windows when i got it, but i did make sure to kill any unwanted startup processes

looking forward to your insight!

after a lil bit of searching, my laptop has modern standby enabled and when i run powercfg /a under s3 sleep it says:

The system firmware does not support this standby state.
This standby state is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.

so , is there anything i can do?

Regarding sleep battery drain, I'd change all sleep functionality to hibernate instead.

i've done so but hibernate isnt really a replacemeny for s3 sleep
