Mechanical Keyboard - Gaming

I like the logitech G815 (915 if you want wireless but I'd say it's not necessary). It's low profile and frameless which makes cleaning a breeze. Plus LGHub doesn't suck ass

I am looking for a good mechanical keyboard for gaming (mostly) and usual use.

My budget is around 100-150 USD (can go a bit up if needed).

Any further constraints? Like: size (100%, TKL, 60%), layout (ANSI, ISO), wired vs wireless...

My usual recommendation would be to look at Keychron's offerings, since their quality is good for the price and their shop usually has a lot in stock. However, if you want to go wireless for gaming be aware that most of their wireless keyboards are BT only, which is less than ideal for any gaming imho. Wired are fine, unless you are competitive FPS player etc.

If TKL etc. is fine by you, then a lot more options exist in the form of Nuphy and Monsgeek, plus some newer budget keyboards from Womier/Yunzii or Cidoo. I can't talk about the latency on those boards though with wireless.

Should you look for more gaming-style boards be aware that most of them are considered over-priced for the quality they offer. They usually also lack a staple feature of most custom boards: hotswap switches. That means the switches are soldered in place instead of being socketed and removable.

Hotswap allows you to easily exchange switches when one breaks or if you should desire a different switch.

Honestly. I have a Redragon keyboard. Got it as a gift like 6 years ago. Kind of still working. I honestly am not that knowledgeable in keyboards and their technology. I prefer something that feels good on touch, easily removable keys (so I can clean it), reliable and long term usage.

As for the technology. I don’t know…

Do you know what switch type it is?

Pop up one keycap and tell us the color.

I'm a NuPhy fanboy and I love their Halo75 keyboard, so that would be my recommendation. IMO I think it's the best prebuilt keyboard for price to performance. As a nice benefit, their keyboards also come with spare switches - 1 of each switch type they sell. This is nice if you're curious to try other switches.

Keychron and NuPhy would be the top two recommendations for most people. The main benefit of NuPhy would be the fact they have a 2.4GHz USB dongle as a third connection option whereas Keychron only has two (wired, Bluetooth).

Their color is purple.
