Hello i am wondering what i should do when i bought my motherboard i didnt notice it was crossfire only so should i get 2 R9 270x's or get a new motherboard and get 2 760's ?

What motherboard do you have? Some just don't specify sli support even if they do. If you cannot be bothered to risk it just go for the 270x's.

why dont you just get a better single card? you need to have 2 8X pci lanes for your motherboard to be certified with sli compatibility if i were you i would just get a better card with the money you can spend on crossfire or sli.

For the price of two GTX760, you can get two R9 280 (non-X), they ought to do as well, if not better than two GTX760.

Should be, the CX750M has 4x 6+2 PCIe power cables with a single +12v rail at 62A......rated Bronze, so I think it's good to go.

Yes, it is, and it's the same price as the GTX760 (after $10 rebate)....comes with 3 free games to boot.

Yep, but here's what I could find about your mobo:

1. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)

   (The PCIEX16 slot conforms to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)

   * For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot.

2. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)

From my understanding of it, your first card would be doing PCIe 3.0 X16 (might drop to PCIe 3.0 X8 when more than one slot is used, not sure about this though). Your 2nd card would be limited to PCIe X4, I don't know how this would affect performance though.

Honestly, I've seen benchmarks/reviews that show negligible difference between X16 and X8 and X4, I think you should be OK.....though I'd suggest you do a little research yourself to see if it matters. My question is, if you have the budget for 2x R9 280, that means you have a budget of about 450USD to 500USD, why not get a single powerful card like an R9 290/GTX780?
