if i try to play a game or watch 720 youtube videos or do some media stuff or after a certain time using the pc my temperatures are even higher .

Playing some decent 3-4 yr old game

my temps are

GPU -90C

Temp 1 : 90-100C

Core 0 : 90-100C

Core 1 : 90-100C

Hdd 40-45C

I have recently changed the thermal paste on both CPU and GPU , cleaned the heatsinks ,cleaned the fan.

See if you get different readings with real temp. On my PC speed fan temperatures are completely wrong.

  • 1 month later...

That laptop is poorly designed cooling wise. Got a friend with one of those and he has the same retarded problem.

I don't know where asus had it's brains designing that retarded type of cooling.

1 solo place for push and pull air, and a the "heatpipe" that pulls the heat from the GPU actually touches the CPU! How the hell am i supposed to cool an i5 and a 540gt with such a retarded design? I don't even understand... It's like, 2 design flaws in one: intake+exhaust in 1 hole and those "heatpipes" who "transport" the heat oner the cpu...

It's funny tho. My friend always said it is a "hot" laptop but he never played any semi-srs game on it. Now that he started it the pc goes to 80++++ and starts throttling and it doesnt have warranty anymore, se he is stuck with a bad Asus product (let the circlejerk begin)

Nothing can be done mate. What i will try to do is change the fan so that it pulls air from below and exhausts to the side. Ill check the fan he has to see if it can be done.

edit: what i wwill try to do is actually open a hole in the bottom depending on the fan type. If it actually can pull air from bottom it will be a huge plus on the cooling.
