I think a controller and an iPad will be the best gaming option.  Not the iphones.

iPad with same or better performance, bigger battery and screen. 

Apple needs to build a controller that "just works".

I think for me, if I was torn between the pro & the rugulae iPhone, this would be worth the extra $$ to me. I could easily store the controller in my backpack. Not the best but if the iPad Pro gets this treatment, I would for sure upgrade. Also I already stream steam to Apple TV so the new chip in a new Apple TV would incline me to upgrade

Apple and Nvidia are at the top of the list of the largest BlackRock holdings. Do you suppose this may have something to do with Apple's sudden great strides in graphics technology? Not long ago, they were a non-entity in computer graphics and I wonder if perhaps they got a little help to advance.
