if only i knew what thickness they are, have no idea, dang 😄

Yeah.. That varies from laptop to laptop and location to location.
You should be fine, just be careful when you open it up to not tear the pads too much.
If one breaks in half you can try to put it back as best as you can, should still be sufficient. I have seen that done plenty of times without issues.
Its still kinda soft and gooey so it will bond nicely with the other part that tore off. No problemo 👍

Hey hey, im going to replace thermal paste for my laptop, and i have a question about vram, i know how to change the paste for the cpu and gpu, but do i have to change the putty for vram? i cant find any for sale in my country, can it just be left alone with old putty?

If the pads stay intact then it shouldn't be a problem 🙂

such a quick response 🙂 so i guess i will buy some pads, just in case, and i just cut them into right shape, and put it on the vram?

If they are the correct thickness as the pads used in the laptop, Yep!

Youve been a real G, thanks soo much, i was really confused with that but im alot more confident, ill just get 2mm pads just i case, and try to open it gently, although its 2 years and i dont know how the putty/pad thing degrades overtime. Thank aloot

No worries!  What exact laptop do you have, if you know?
Yeah. 2mm sounds good, 2mm is quite normal for laptops but it can vary as mentioned.
Dont stress too much about it, you'll manage just fine! 👍

In which country do you live? If it is thermal putty, you should be able to find some from various online vendors that will ship it to you. Some websites you can search for Thermal Putty are Aliexpress, Amazon, Newegg, Digikey, Halnziye, Penchem, Mouser

I'd recommend searching for Halnziye HY256 or HY236, Laird T-Putty 607, CX-H1300, or Upsiren U6 Pro (but not the CSGR version)
