so for my pc build i decided to get ASUS xonar DG, and the Audio Technica ATH-M50 S. instead of a gaming headset because i want better quailty audio for both me and my team mates.

what i am having problems with is finding the right mic. i dont know a whole lot about this. but i did acting back in high school where i briefly got to understand the difference between condenser and a dynamic mic, but i still don't know what type would be best. since one need some power to work and the other on doesn't and if i get it wrong i can destroy the equipment. Because i have no clue how it works when you add a microphone to a pc.

Anything that is cheap(but not to cheap that it sucks), good audio, picks up audio from one direction. so i can avoid my annoying keyboard spam(rogues tend to spam backstab and strafe alot)

the location is norway so most stuff is expensive here. but i am buying the headset from amazon so if there is anything on there i'll buy both at once.

lets start from cheap and rank them higher after the more pricey it gets. because i don't know what i would like to spend on this.

cheers.

Edit: Cardioid is what i want. doesn't need to have other settings, but it wouldn't hurt.. I guess a usb one would be easiest to setup so i don't need to bother with a jack.

Let me take you to the mountain!!

Pretty much sums it up.

I'm just a norwegien skier/snowboarder addicted to pow.

If you want to avoid keyboard sounds you need to get a mic close to your mouth. Pyle pro has some headworn mics that I've seen recommended and then there are the modmic or getting a desktop mic like the Samson meteor with a stand

Uuuh, the Blue Snowball is about 500 (NOK ofc) here, but that's ONLY in the apple store. the Zalman mic thing is 50, and then there's the choice of shipping a mod mic to Norway. for me, with 8 extra (not really needed) base clasps, it totaled a little over 400 nok, around 60-70 USD, and it's just great. I use it more than my Blue snowball.
