Sorry if this is a duplicate of someone's post.

Every time I do a stress test and any stress test program, my CPU overheats within 2 seconds, 100+degrees C. But as soon i cancel the test, the temperature drops immediately to 40-30c. I have tried reapplying thermal paste, moving the AIO cooler in a different area and change the fans airflow direction and reseating the CPU. I don't think my motherboard isn't that good. I can't adjust much in the bios. I even tried setting the bios to default settings. The motherboard reports the AIO pump and fans are spinning. I have tried setting the fans to max speed but no difference. Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks I'd attached my sysinfo.

Is the AIO new or old?  If new make sure the plastic peel is off of the cooler, if it is old make sure there is fluid left... Ask me how I know just went through this same deal, AIO I had been running started to not cool and temps would spike to 80+ as soon as a load was applied, turned out that most of the water had evaporated out over the years.  Then when installing new AIO I managed to leave the plastic peel on and when testing temps instantly climbed to 100.

I purchased the CORSAIR iCUE H100i RGB PRO XT, 240mm last year on 2-22-2022. No plastic left on.

If you're getting proper pressure when installed I would have to assume pump died or something of the sort.  When you remove it how does the thermo paste look? Spread out thin across the chip or thick still?

The fan and pump monitor shows the pump's rpm is 2900rpm. Yes the thermal paste is spread thin. What is off is the liquid temperature only goes up 3 degrees.

It is possible the impeller in the pump broke so its still spinning but not moving water.

your pump is dead. and thats why I'll never buy an aio 🙂

You know this how? If the pump is dead, why isn’t the idle temperature higher? At idle it’s only at 30c. If the pump was faulty I would think the temperature would be higher like 50c+ at idle.
