Keyboard issues please help!

Go to solution Solved by Eliquin,

Hi sorry late response, I think I found the problem to this, I uinstalled Ge force experience I think because of the overlay its causing me to drop fps and making me not being able to control my keyboard I don't know why this is but it is very weird. Thanks for the help and suggestion!

Hi! I need help with my keyboard, whenever I play games for some reasons I can't control it. It will run smoothly for a couple of minutes and then randomly I can't control the keyboard. When I press a letter to make my character move it will like input the letters I press 2-10 times repeatedly making my character move without me pressing anything, I have to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard so that I can control it again. I have tried using two different keyboard one wired and Bluetooth keyboard put it in a different USB port but it's still doing it, I uninstall and reinstall the drivers hoping this would fix it but nope. It also mostly happen when I drop fps or gaming really hard so I thought it's the gpu driver, I went back to the old driver and guess what it still do it. I also went and tried reinstalling Windows 11 thinking this would help me but after a few hours the problem came back. I tried everything that I can and know!

It wasn't like this last month when I build the PC. This only happens when I am gaming but when I am typing and creating stuff it doesn't.

I am now clueless and frustrated about this. Any help would really be appreciated!

1. My keyboards are Hyperx alloy origins core, gamakay lk67, and a wired logitech keyboard.

2. Here are my specs: CPU i7-13700k, GPU is 4070, Ram is 32 gb, and mobo is MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI

3. It happens to any games that I play no clue why.

Thank you for your help I will move this to troubleshooting place.

Copied this over from your earlier answer in the peripherals section.

I'd suggest to look into updating the Mobo drivers if you haven't already. Also check in the device manager, maybe some other input devices are in there or remnants of broken installs.

Also , which games are we talking about? anything really taxing on your system, or also in easy to run games?

Games that I usually play are Overwatch, Valorant, BG3, GTA V, league of legends, Cyberpunk. I have a 1080p monitor if you also need that not sure that would be a problem because 4070 should be more than enough for 1080p. I will try updating my Mobo once I get home.

I was just thinking if it was related to CPU or GPU load. It is just weird to me that it only happens in game and not otherwise. funny thing to test could be having cinebench and maybe a GPU benchmark running and then try typing in notepad and see what happens.

Mobo driver would be my idea because it could be related to USB or Bluetooth controller.

If the problem only occurs in games, it is related to something that is only used in games. For example, if you had a gamepad controller plugged into your computer and forgot about it. It may be hidden under some stuff on your desk that is constantly pressing on a button (don't laugh, it happened to more than one people 😄 )

Also, some mouses and keyboards have control software (logitech options for example) that defines a different behavior while in games. You can try disabling such software if installed on your computer.

Good luck !

Haha I made sure that the only thing connected is my mouse and keyboard!

I will try this on my hyperx and see if it will work.

Thank you!
