Hello, I have a home server for plex, and some virtualization and I want to be able to connect to it from different networks outside my house(my phone, other computers).

My main problem is absence of public ip so I cant host my own VPN and cant portforward. Only ways I could access the virtual pcs is software like anydesk, teamviewer etc.

This doesnt solve my problem with plex which runs on TrueNas Scale not in a virtual machine. I looked into VPN proxies like Nord or Tunnelbear but I read you cant use them the wax I need.

What are my options? Thanks for any feedback

I know PIA let you get a dedicated public IP/port that you can access externally. I used to run an MC server that way

Now that im looking at the pricing. Is it included in the basic subscription or is it separate service? For the 3 euros that I found it would be pretty much the same price as the Public IP from my ISP.

While I haven't tested it myself, NordVPN has integrated MeshNet into their client software.

Alternatives to check out:

  1. Tailscale
  2. Headscale
  3. ZeroTier
  4. Nebula
  5. Pritunl
  6. Enclave.io
